The Washington Capitals are 15 games into their schedule, and have just recently moved above the .500 mark. Tuesday nights win moved the Capitals into second place in the Metropolitan division, as they leapfrogged the Islanders – their record is now 8-7 with 16 points. Tonight is the last game of their three game home stand, as they take on the Minnesota Wild at 7:00 PM at the Verizon Center.
Grading The Washington Capitals – 15 Games Played is my version of grading the Caps so far this season – but in this particular post, I want your opinion! You the fans matter the most, and we believe that your outlook on the team is important. Not to mention, it’s a great time in the Caps season to take a look back and evaluate their progress.
In my post, I took a look at the team in specific categories; Offense, Defense, Goaltending, and Special Teams. I then dug deeper into each category, for example – goals for, goals against, several goalie stats, and special teams percentage rates. You can also factor in individual performances, for instance – Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin are the driving force behind the offense. To me, offense is offense, secondary scoring is important, but as long as the Capitals are scoring, then I am happy! Maybe you see it differently though.
Enough about what I did, I am sure you have your own method in rating the team. Go ahead and vote below….
