Fan Poll: Who Will be the Washington Capitals’ Best Player?

Washington Capitals

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Capitals are gearing up to face their former Southeast Division foe, the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Caps have been playing exceptionally well as of late, with victories in their two previous games. It looks as though the defense is finally meshing–and generating some offense–and Adam Oates has felt confident enough to roll all four lines.

Per Katie Carrera, here is tonight’s expected lineup:

Johansson-Backstrom-Ovechkin
Fehr-Grabovski-Brouwer
Chimera-Erat-Ward
Volpatti-Beagle-Wilson

Alzner-Green
Orlov-Carlson
Schmidt-Oleksy

Holtby, Grubauer

Many of these players have made outstanding contributions, particularly with new linemates. How will they fare against the Lightning, who have been riddled with injuries and are still missing superstar Steven Stamkos? That’s not to say the Caps should relax–they certainly didn’t in their win over the Nashville Predators–but in your opinion, which Capital will step up to the plate and (hopefully) lead the team to a victory? Vote in the poll below.
