Washington Capitals Draft Prospects: William Nylander

With there being many mock draft out in the NHL world, we are going to try and look at most of them and who their take is one what the Washington Capitals might do with their pick at 13.

William Nylander is a smaller centerman, 5’11″ 175#s that is not physical by any means but has a lot more to go with.  He is able to change gears quickly and move to a top end gear when he needs to.  His stickhandling is one of the best in the draft.

He has shown offensive capability in the past and is a great shot and is able to pass the puck as well.

Nylander is an extremely skilled, dynamic player who has quick hands and feet that make him dangerous offensively. He has great top-end speed, a strong burst and elite vision. He can distribute the puck like few other his age. An intelligent player, he out-thinks opponents regularly.

- Future Consideration

Nylander could possibly be the most skilled player available in the draft.  Come draft time and when the Capitals role around to the 13th spot, if Nylander is still available and their is not a defensemen close in sight, I think MacLellan and company have to pull the trigger and get this guy.  Defense is the new offense, based on Trotz new philosophy but you also have to be able to score goals as well.
