Yesterday, the Washington Capitals greatly improved their defense, signing Matt Niskanen and Brooks Orpik. General Manager Brian MacLellan has implied that he also wants to sign a second line center. With just over a million dollars in cap space remaining, somebody has to go. Considering that Mike Green is currently probably a third pairing defenseman and he commands a $6,083,333 cap hit, Mike Green is an obvious trade candidate.

If Mike Green were put on the trade market, there would be no shortage of suitors for him. He’s a very talented puck mover who is reasonably priced considering his production. He has just one year left on his deal. Here are four teams that it would make a ton of sense for Green to be traded to.
