This morning we woke up and had a little workout, a team building exercise and a guest speaker. We were doing these activities as a unit, which is a good way to build a team spirit. After the workout with all of the guys, we had another goalie skate. I think the rest of the guys were done with their activities after the workout, but the goalies got to work on some specific skills one-on-one with the goalie coaches, which is really helpful.”- Pheonix Copley (on his blog)
  • Here’s a Twitter recap of the scrimmage, done by yours truly. (Stars And Sticks)
  • Andre Burakovsky saw some time at center yesterday during the scrimmage. (Washington Post)
  • Burakovsky, linemate Jakub Vrana, and Travis Boyd were the stars of the scrimmage yesterday. (CSN Washington)
  • Trotz got to meet the team and it went quite well. (CSN Washington)
  • Enjoying the journey has paid off for new Washington Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen. (Let’s Play Hockey)
  • Troy Mann is supported by two Calder Cup winning coaches. (Penn Live)
  • Here’s a rundown of the new AHL rules. (Penn Live)
