The New York Islanders are selling a minority part of their team to a London based investor and a former Washington Capitals owner John Ledecky. Within two years, they will be full owners and partners for the organization. [The Hockey News]
The Hersey Bears signed former Washington Capitals 2008 draft pick Joel Broda. Broda was drafted by the Washington Capitals back in 2008 and participated in development camps with them but never signed a contract with them. He has been playing in the AHL consistently since then and will join the Capitals affiliate but will not be the property of the Capitals, but be back in the eyes of his former drafting team. Those late round picks that turn out to be the franchises top player, one to lead them to the promise land.
