Happy Thursday Everyone! Here are your daily links for the Washington Capitals.

Which hockey games are going to be crucial for the Capitals to win this year?

Hockey season is almost back in full swing.  The Washington Capitals are set to prove that last season’s disappointment is something that will not become a regular thing.

It is difficult to win games in the NHL.  The competitive balance in the NHL is as tight as it has ever been before.  There are not too many “easy” games and any team has to earn any points that they can get on any given night.

The Capitals are a week away from having the rookies report to camp and begin their training.  The rookie camp will be a week long and will end with a rookie scrimmage against the Philadelphia Flyers rookies in Voorhees, NJ.  After the rookie camp, the veterans training camp will begin and a couple of rookies will be asked to stick around to attend the veterans camp.  A short list of rookies we already know about that will be attending next week; Andre Burakovsky, Jakub Vrana and Chandler Stephenson and goaltender Pheonix Copley. A complete list will be coming shortly.  [Comcast]

Washington D.C. is back on the radar for the Olympics and has a bid in to possibly host the 2024 Summer Olympics.  Washington was announced as one of 4 U.S. Cities that put in bids along with Los Angeles, San Fransisco, and Boston.  Los Angeles is the only city among the 4 that has hosted the Olympics games, twice actually, 1932 and 1984.  The cost for the area is said to be in the 4 to 6 billion range but if done correctly, the economic growth would be greater than that.  [CBS Washington]
