The Metropolitan Division has been a very evenly matched division so far, with four teams tied for third in the division with 10 points. Every team save for one has been competitive thus far. Here’s this week’s power rankings for the Metropolitan Division:

92. The Pittsburgh Penguins are beginning to look like the Pittsburgh Penguins of old: an extremely dominant offensive juggernaut. As expected, they’ve been the best team in the Metropolitan Division so far, in my opinion. Funny how things work when you have two of the best centers in the world in <a href=. (5-2-1). Previous: . Pittsburgh Penguins. 1. team

The Islanders have been precisely what everyone thought they would be: an extremely exciting high-scoring team that plays questionable defense. So far, they’ve been the second best team in the Metropolitan Division. They’ve scored 37 goals in nine games, but they’ve also allowed 31. If their offense keeps this up, they’re a playoff team. If their offense slumps, either their defense has to step it up or they won’t be a playoff team. I firmly believe in their offense, led by <a href=. (6-3-0). Previous: . New York Islanders. 2. team. 106

3. team. 19. There are four teams with 10 points in the Metropolitan Division. The Capitals get the nod as the best team with 10 points because of the fact that they are the only team with 10 points who hasn’t played nine games. They had a rough week. They should have beaten the Oilers, but had bad puck luck. They lost to the Canucks and were dominated for most of the game. Even with <a href=. (4-2-2). Previous: . Washington Capitals

95. After a very rough start to the season, the Rangers look like they have rebounded. Their offense is beginning to show life, as they are averaging three goals a game. What’s concerning me is that the Rangers haven’t really fired on all cylinders yet this season. When their defense is good, their offense struggles. When their offense is good, their defense struggles. Still, this is a very good team, and I definitely think that they’re one of the best teams in the Metropolitan Division. . (5-4-0). Previous: . New York Rangers. 4. team

(4-3-2). Previous: . Philadelphia Flyers. 5. team. 68. The Flyers had a great week, getting three consecutive wins. Their defense has looked better, but they’ve got to continue to get better if the Flyers want to be contenders in the Metropolitan Division. <a href=

85. I honestly don’t really know what to think of the Devils. They’ve sort of been like the Rangers: whenever their defense is good, their offense struggles. Whenever their offense is good, their defense struggles. It’s weird seeing a Devils team that is struggling on defense, having allowed 33 goals in just 9 games. <a href=. (4-3-2). Previous: . New Jersey Devils. 6. team

113. Columbus has been hit hard by the injury bug. None of their injuries sting nearly as much as <a href=. (4-5-0). Previous: . Columbus Blue Jackets. 7. team

(0-6-2). Previous: . Carolina Hurricanes. 8. team. 109. I knew the Hurricanes were going to be horrible and I realized that they were almost indefinitely going to finish last in the Metropolitan Division, but WOW. I did not see them being this bad. Granted, getting <a href=

What do you think? Did I rank a team too high? Am I being too hard on a team? Let me know!
