The Washington Capitals open their series against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Here’s everything you need to know to watch it, including via live stream.

For the third time in their respective careers, Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby will face each other in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins get their long anticipated second round series underway on Thursday. It is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Verizon Center.

The Capitals have only beaten the Penguins in one series in nine attempts. Pittsburgh has come out on top the other eight times. However, history means very little in the present. At one point, the Chicago Blackhawks were known as chokers. They, however, rewrote that script by winning the 2009-10 Stanley Cup. The Capitals will look to do the same. Led by Braden Holtby, Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom, they have arguably the best team they’ve ever had.

On the other side of the ice, the Penguins look to once again eliminate their arch rivals. Even without star defenseman Kris Letang, they look to be a very dangerous team. However, the Penguins must do better defensively than they did against the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first round.
