The Washington Capitals have several training camp battles that will determine not just roster spots, but roles on the team as well.
The Washington Capitals are on the verge of opening up training camp. It begins September 18th at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. As with every year, training camp will feature the Washington Capitals roster. It will also feature prospects looking to make the team, free agents and undrafted players (a la Liam O’Brien) looking to earn professional contracts.
This year’s training camp is going to be a very interesting one for the Washington Capitals. There are several new faces set to compete for key roles, such as T.J. Oshie and Justin Williams. Due to the departure of several key free agents, the Washington Capitals still have quite a few holes to be filled. Those holes will be filled during training camp.
