The Washington Capitals take on the New York Rangers for Wednesday Night Hockey on the NBC Sports Network. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for the game.

First of all this Washington Capitals lineup will look vastly different. A ton of roster moves were made. The Capitals recalled Mike Sgarbossa, Beck Malenstyn, Tyler Lewington, and Ilya Samsonov from the Hershey Bears. Vitek Vanecek was brought back to the Bears.

We all knew that Carl Hagelin and Nic Dowd were injured but we didn’t know that Nicklas Backstrom suffered an injury on Monday night’s game. All three have upper body injuries and are ruled out tonight. Hagelin will go on long term injured reserve and Dowd on IR.

Backstrom wasn’t present at the team’s optional skate on Tuesday before departing for New York. Hagelin won’t be activated until Dec. 2 while Dowd will be eligible for activation tomorrow.

When morning skate came, Hathaway was on the ice with his hearing taking place later in the morning. He had his hearing via a phone call and the final decision is a three-game suspension.

There’s a lot to breakdown here so without further ado here are the keys to victory tonight.
