It’s stars of the week time and everybody can rejoice. It’s the highlight of your week and you know it. More importantly we know it and if you don’t consider it a highlight of your week, well you’re just flat out wrong.

Anyways, the past week started out slow. The Capitals didn’t have a game for the first three days of the week but finished the week with three games in four days. Apparently the Capitals used their days off well and enjoyed their Thanksgiving, they went 3-0-0 this week.

It could have been a tougher week. A game against a tougher Florida Panthers team, a game against another Florida team the Lightning who should be better than they are and a game that you could easily call a trap game vs the Detroit Red Wings. The Capitals did not flinch however and grabbed all six points that were up for grabs.

It’s now time to celebrate a few player performances like we do every week here at Stars and Sticks.

I’ll just point this out now, there were not a lot of players who had both great advanced stats and traditional stats while being noticeable at the same time. That means this week you’ll likely going to have contradicting stats saying this player didn’t have a great week.

I don’t think we’ll have too many controversial picks this week. With that said, lets hand out our stars of the week.
