The Washington Capitals will open the campaign on Monday, September 16 at Capital One Arena hosting the Chicago Blackhawks. Two days later will feature a matchup between the last two Stanley Cup champions as the Caps will take on the St. Louis Blues.
Rounding out the opponents will be that team from Carolina that ended Washington’s season not too long ago, the Hurricanes. They’ll return to the District on Saturday September 21.
Overall the preseason campaign will feature six home games but just those three opponents with road stops in each city as well. That will come the following week as Washington takes a three-city tour of Chicago the following Wednesday and St. Louis and Carolina to round out the weekend.
