Washington Capitals: Capital One Arena gets a facelift

Capital One Arena, home of the Washington Capitals, is about to look more state of the art this upcoming hockey season.

Washington Capitals games will have a much better experience in the new future thanks to the continuing renovations going on at Capital One Arena. The arena is going through the second phase after the seats notably got a makeover one year ago as well as the upper and lower concourses.

One change you’ll see will occur in the Club Level, also once previously known as the Acela Club Level and now called the Kettler loft. That concourse will join the upper and lower levels for a new makover including new flooring, lighting and decor.

Additionally, all the concessions on the club level will be renovated as well as two in the upper level. Some new directional signage was also installed throughout the arena to help fans find their way around. Here’s more about some new stands that are coming.

The Capitals introduced a few new clubs. One was the Ultra Club– a private, members-only space on the 200 level- received a refresh with newly-designed decor and furniture including 120 additional premium seats, new entry video walls, and enhanced Ultra experiences for members.

Amenities also include an all-inclusive dining experience featuring world-renowned chef-inspired menus, along with complimentary beer, wine, and soft drinks and complementary off-site parking or day-of-game Uber ride credits for full-season ticket members.

Another new club is open on the 100 level (lower level) called the Stella Artois bar which features an upscale environment and a sick HD video board with live game feeds.

Perhaps the most glaring transformation will come with the new HD video scoreboard.

According to the arena, is one of the largest 360-degree continuous video screens of any arena in the United States with over 7,000 total square feet of SMART LED display. The Caps and Wizards game experience just got better.

That isn’t all though. The suites will be a part of the second phase of the renovations too with new seats and carpeting. Most recently, the arena has installed four two-sided, curved DualTV boards in the corners of the arena that’ll ensure that every fans has a premium view of the game action.

Per the arena Twitter page, the boards will boast over 2,200 square feet of HD LED video display arena-side and the first back-side LED video display in the industry which will deliver stats and scores alongside game action.
