After injuries have been a cause of concern health wise for the Washington Capitals, it seems like something might be up on and off the ice. Garnet Hathaway is the third player to be sent to COVID protocol and be unavailable. After the Carolina Hurricanes had two players enter the protocol after their game against the Caps, the guys from the District are starting to see a negative pattern on their end.
Hathaway joins his podcast bro Nic Dowd as well as Trevor van Riemsdyk. What makes this interesting is they all didn’t enter protocols at once, just on different days. Hopefully there’s just three but more could be added.
There’s been four players that have had to quarantine this season, the other being Lars Eller who contracted the virus on their west coast road trip and had to quarantine in a hotel in Anaheim.
The two culprits on the Hurricanes are none other than Tony DeAngelo and Brett Pesce. Before the Capitals game against the Blue Jackets on Saturday night as well as the Hurricanes game against the Buffalo Sabres, take a look at the two teams social media channels to see the difference in how they’ve conducted themselves. It’s pretty remarkable.
You can see above our boys, looking good in the suits as always but they added a touch: masks. That’s right, the players started wearing masks to the arena after Dowd and TvR entered protocols, and Coach Peter Laviolette even confirmed it. So what about the Jerks down south? Nope, no masks in sight.
