The Washington Capitals will look to bounce back against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night. The contest will be the last time the Caps have to travel back and fourth for a while as they will enter a four game homestand.

This game is the Caps lone visit to Detroit this season. It’s also their sixth road game in the last eight contests and eighth of nine consecutive games they’ll have to travel.

The team is banged up with several key players on injured reserve. They’ve lost three skaters in their last three games. Connor Brown is now on long term injured reserve while John Carlson, T.J. Oshie and Beck Malenstyn are on injured reserve.

The Caps recalled Sonny Milano, Garrett Pilon and Lucas Johansen for some reinforcements. Maybe Connor McMichael will actually get playing time but who knows what’s actually going on when they’re working through some things in the room.
