The Washington Capitals will look to snap a four game losing streak tonight when they host the Edmonton Oilers. It is the second game of their season long four game homestand and the first of two meetings between the teams this season.
The Capitals have a record of 39-31-6-3 all time against Edmonton and are 8-4-3 in their last 15 games against the Oilers which dates back to the 2013-14 season.
Last season the Capitals lost both games against Edmonton, one in regulation and the other in overtime. The last time they met which was at Edmonton on March 9th, Nicklas Backstrom recorded his 1,000th career point. Alas he’s still out.
Saturday’s loss to the Arizona Coyotes was a game the Capitals could’ve won. But all season long they’ve struggled to hold onto leads.
