16. Edmonton Oilers (from Pittsburgh Penguins)

148. It’s not a secret that the Oilers defense is a dumpster fire at this point. Granted, they could solve that with relative ease, but they need depth there as well. Zboril is a defensively responsible defenseman who I think has enough offensive upside to his game that he’s worth drafting here.. Defense. Saint John (QMJHL). Jakub Zboril. 16. player

17. Winnipeg Jets

Portland (WHL). Paul Bittner. 17. player. 30. The Jets love to hit. Bittner is a huge forward who loves to hit. This is a match made in heaven. Bittner is more than just a big forward. He’s also very skilled. He drives strong to the net and he knows what he needs to do to score.. Left Wing

18. Ottawa Senators

Kelowna (WHL). Nick Merkley. 18. player. 91. The Senators get a borderline top ten talent with their eighteenth pick. I really like Merkley. Whenever he was on the ice for Kelowna, I saw him consistently make the guys around him better. That’s what really good centers do. The Senators definitely need that kind of guy in their top six. He’s not the best skater, but he makes up for it with his hockey IQ, instincts and his amazing work ethic. He plays with a chip on his shoulder.. Center/Right Wing

19. Detroit Red Wings

20. Minnesota Wild

Jansen Harkins. 20. player. 98. The Wild barely miss out on local product Colin White, but Harkins is a very similar player to White. Great two-way player. Harkins and 2014 1st rounder Alex Tuch should lead the way for years to come.. Center. Prince George (WHL)
