It’s important to remember that hockey, even though it is a job for NHL players, is still a game. Perhaps no one on the Washington Capitals realizes that more than roommates and Road To Winter Classic stars Tom Wilson and Michael Latta. On the ice, Wilson provides hard hits and should see an uptick in his scoring as he looks to have a third line role. Latta provides forward depth and has shown that he’s not afraid to stand up for his teammates.
Off the ice, the two are invaluable because of the pure joy that they bring to the Washington Capitals and their fans. Their twitter exchanges with each other are hilarious. They constantly make fun of each other, which is adorable. Their personalities make them fan favorites.

The NHL season is long and can be exhausting to both players and fans. If Latta and Wilson are even half as hilarious in the locker room as they are on Twitter, I think that brings value. They say laughter is the best medicine if you want to cure stress. If that’s true, Latta and Wilson are just what the doctor ordered.
Both of the forwards might be bottom six forwards, but Washington Capitals fans should be excited about what they bring both to the team both on and off the ice. Both forwards are looking to prove themselves this season, so keep an eye on that.
