2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs Printable Bracket: Second Round Update
With the second round officially set, here’s an updated look at the 2017 Stanley Cup bracket.
The first round of the 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs is officially over. There were a record setting number of overtime games, but sadly, there were no games 7. After some huge upsets, the second round bracket looks a bit different than many expected. Most notably, the Western Conference saw just two of its higher seeds advance. Both the Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild got upset. On the Eastern Conference side, the lone upset saw the New York Rangers advance over the Montreal Canadiens. Here’s an updated look at the postseason bracket.

There are some excellent match ups in the second round of the playoffs. The two most intriguing ones feature the Washington Capitals taking on the reigning Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins and the Anaheim Ducks squaring off against the Edmonton Oilers. Both of the series feature teams who share mutual feelings of disdain towards each other.
If you love underdogs, the Nashville Predators versus St. Louis Blues series is perfect. Between the two, they eliminated two of the top three seeds in the Western Conference. Don’t sleep on the series between the New York Rangers and Ottawa Senators, which will feature two of the best goalies in the business.
The NHL postseason is the best time of the year for hockey fans. They get to see the best teams in the league square off against each other. And of course, the post-series handshake line is one of the best traditions in all of sports. After an exciting first round, the second round has some lofty expectations to live up to. Let’s hope this round is even more exciting and thrilling than the first.
