The Washington Capitals look to avoid a 3-0 series deficit when they face the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 3 on Monday. Here’s how you can watch via live stream.

It’s official – the Washington Capitals are behind the eight ball. Despite getting the first two home games of the series, the Caps leave Washington DC down 2-0 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. This makes Monday’s Game 3 a must win game as they try to regain control of the series.

The Caps haven’t been playing too well. While their offense has been generating shots against Marc-Andre Fleury, they aren’t finishing nearly enough. On the other end of the ice, Vezina Trophy finalist Braden Holtby hasn’t been able to stop anything. He was pulled in Game 2. However, looking at Holtby’s record after being pulled, perhaps that’s a good thing.

More from Stars and Sticks

Back in 2009, the Capitals got out to a 2-0 series lead against the Penguins. The latter came back to beat the former in the series in seven games. Washington will look to begin their quest to get revenge on the Pens for that series.

Date: Monday, May 1
Start Time: 7:30pm ET
Venue: PPG Paints Arena
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Series Lead: Penguins lead series 2-0
TV Channel: NBCSN, CBC, TVAS
Live Stream: NBC Sports Live Extra

Game 3 might be the most important game of the year for the Washington Capitals. They can’t afford to lose it. Winning the game on Monday could give them some confidence moving forward. They’ve dug themselves into a hole but they have what it takes to get out of it.
