The Washington Capitals have announced their 2017-18 preseason schedule, featuring three home games.
It might be the offseason, but it’s never too early to start looking at the Washington Capitals schedule for next season. The full regular season schedule should be known by the end of June. However, the team has already announced their 2017-18 preseason schedule.
The Caps will open the preseason against the New Jersey Devils on the road. They will follow with a road game against the Montreal Canadiens. Their first home game will be on September 22 against the St. Louis Blues.

They will return to Verizon Center for their first of three straight home games on Sept. 22 against the St. Louis Blues.Washington will then face the Carolina Hurricanes on Sept. 23 and New Jersey on Sept. 27 at Verizon Center. The Capitals will conclude their preseason schedule against Carolina at PNC Arena on Sept. 29 and St. Louis on Oct. 1 at Scottrade Center."
The Caps have made it a bit of a tradition to face the Blues in the preseason, which is a bit interesting. They will face the Devils, Blues and Hurricanes twice. Meanwhile, the Capitals will face the Canadiens just once. Last preseason, the two teams had a bit of a rivalry after a cheap shot to Connor Hobbs. It boiled over thanks to a fight between Andrew Shaw and Nathan Walker.
