There are many great players who have donned a Washington Capitals uniforms for four and a half decades. Would would the greatest team look like?
We’re still waiting patiently for Washington Capitals hockey and as the offseason reaches the dog days of summer, one could dream of an unstoppable lineup. Who would you pair with whom? How would you construct your four lines?
We wanted to put together the best lineup that could set foot on the ice in Capitals history. To construct this roster, we had to go through 44 seasons of Capitals hockey.
The Capitals have had 29 playoff appearances, 12 division titles and a Stanley Cup to their name. With that much success for a hockey team, it ensures excitement around the city for the years to come.

The goaltending in the past, present and future is always rock solid. From Olaf Kolzig, to Braden Holtby to Ilya Samsonov. The defense has had many ironclad players such as Scott Stevens, Sergei Gonchar, Karl Alzner, Brooks Orpik, and John Carlson.

None of those players will be on these following slides. We’ll be focusing on the forward groups. We’ll take each line, fill it with who we think will best fit along with that player’s best season for that line.
