Another decade has come and gone and what a decade it’s been for the Washington Capitals and their fans.

As the 2010’s wrap up let’s take a look back on the decade the Washington Capitals had. Numerous regular season success, trips to the playoffs and finally taking home the Stanley Cup at the end of the 2017-18 season.

But in my opinion the journey to the Cup didn’t come in one season. In fact, the chase for the Cup began long before that. When the decade started and the Caps were closing in on a historic season where they went 54-15-13 for 121 points to capture the Presidents’ Trophy.

It was their best regular season in franchise history yet it was still the infancy of the “Rock the Red” era. In this decade (excluding the lockout shortened 2013 season) only once had the Capitals failed to win 40 or more games.

It all came together when they lifted that Stanley Cup, a culmination of hard work, blood, sweat and tears and there’s a strong possibility it might not be the only one.

With the decade ending and new one beginning Stars and Sticks decided to assemble an all-decade roster. We’ll have four lines, three pairs, and two goalies. Let’s have some fun.
