The Washington Capitals take on the Philadelphia Flyers for the fourth and final time and this game might be the biggest.

The Washington Capitals are 1-2-0 against a streaking Philadelphia Flyers team that is on their tail in a tight Metropolitan Division race.

Things do not get any easier for the Caps after this game. They’ll face a hungry New York Rangers team the next night and a pesky Pittsburgh Penguins team on Saturday afternoon. Needless to say, the playoffs start now.

The Caps won the first meeting in Philadelphia in shootout fashion 2-1. Brendan Leipsic scored for the Caps in regulation while T.J. Oshie and Evgeny Kuznetsov scored in the shootout round. Braden Holtby got the win with 30 saves.

The Caps dropped the next meeting a month later 3-2. Nicklas Backstrom and Jakub Vrana scored for Washington. They also lost the most recent meeting a few weeks ago in D.C. in a 7-2 thrashing with Oshie and Kuznetsov the only Caps scoring.

Tonight will be a revenge game and it’ll be a must win game for the Caps facing a Flyers team that comes into tonight having won six in a row. The Caps are coming off a win over the Minnesota Wild.
