The Washington Capitals are a fun team to watch both on and off the ice.

For the latter nothing is more evident than looking at the Washington Capitals official YouTube channel. This channel is packed with exclusive videos of the Capitals that you can’t find anywhere else featuring shows such as the brand new Beyond Hockey, All Access, video features from the games and more.

Let’s take a look at some of the best of the best during this tough period without hockey. In no particular order, here are some of the funniest moments from the season so far.

Jackson Friedlander

One of the most popular intermission activities is the Mites on Ice featuring youth hockey players from across the DMV. Earlier this season we met

“Hockey is not about winning. It’s about having fun,” Jackson reminded us all when we first met him as the AAA Mite of the Nite.

When asked who his favorite player was, Jackson without hesitation said Alex Ovechkin and also told us about his pet tarantula named Michael. This might be the greatest interview you’ve ever seen this season.

A few weeks later, the Capitals video team visited Jackson’s house to meet his family and get a tour of his house. And yes we got to meet the tarantula!

The Caps and Nats bromance

After the Washington Nationals won the World Series, the Capitals hosted them for a game before the team took on the Calgary Flames in early November. Name another city where you get professional athletes chugging beer through their jerseys besides D.C.? I’ll wait.

That’s exactly what Adam Eaton did to fire up the Caps after Ryan Zimmerman gave the starting lineup. In the locker room afterward, the players all partied with each other with the Caps joining in on the fun the Nats players had taking in a hockey game. You can relive the epic night below.

Also, remember that time Ryan Zimmerman dressed up as a goalie at practice just a few months later? Good times. The Caps had a video on their YouTube channel that even included GoPro footage of Zimmerman in the crease.

Holiday card featuring Captain!

I look forward to these each and every holiday season. When the Caps release their holiday card it always draws laughs. This season, their new team dog Captain was the star in their rendition Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas”.
