Washington Capitals: Alex Ovechkin would be the best person to play NHL 20 with
If I could play NHL 20 with anybody it would easily be Alex Ovechkin.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who would pick Alex Ovechkin to go up against in NHL 20. I’m sure other Washington Capitals fans would feel the same way and for good reason. Ovechkin loves playing video games and everyone is playing NHL 20 like crazy in anticipation for real hockey to come back.
Ovechkin is such a gifted goal scorer that sometimes when you look at his stats they look like they came out of a video game. Very rarely has he had a season where he scored under 40 goals and he’s had plenty of 50 goal seasons and Rocket Richard Trophies to his name.
Two of our writers have ran NHL 20 simulations. One of them is already finished having the Caps as Stanley Cup champions. Our other contributor, Edward has the Caps currently playing in the Stanley Cup Final.

With the age of social media we’ve actually seen Ovechkin behind the scenes. There was one occasion where he was playing NHL 20 with his son Sergei sitting on his lap. Little did we know Ovechkin was preparing for an epic battle with none other than Wayne Gretzky.
The Caps broadcast affiliates NBC Sports Washington did a good job running NHL 20 simulations of the rest of the regular season games and prior to their contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs we saw Ovi and Ovi Jr. dialed into the TV via Ovechkin’s Instagram story.
Ovechkin’s rating in NHL 20 is 92 overall and he’s ranked fourth in the top 50. Speaking of the number 92, if there was another Caps player who would be fun to game with look no further than Evgeny Kuznetsov.
Kuznetsov was selected to join the NHL 20 players gaming challenge and we’ve seen Kuzy play the video game on the Capitals Twitch channel with members of the Caps Gaming team.
Back to Ovechkin and an idea I have. What if the team did an auction or a sweepstakes and the winner would have the opportunity to play against Ovechkin in NHL 20? I could see a record number of people signing up with one lucky person getting that once in a lifetime chance.

With each passing day we are one day closer to the return of hockey. In the meantime, thankfully, we’ve got NHL 20 to occupy our time as we wait.
