Here’s a list of every Washington Capitals player’s Twitter handle.
There have been plenty of content on social media in the absence of Washington Capitals hockey over the last few months. Thanks to social media we know things like how Nick Jensen, Alex Ovechkin, and T.J. Oshie each welcomed new babies into the world plus Tom Wilson getting a new puppy!
Use this list as a guide when following the players as they return back to the ice looking to resume the season.

Alex Ovechkin has over 2.6 million Twitter followers. His last tweet was a campaign vote for John Carlson to win the Norris Trophy. Ovechkin has the most followers on Twitter in terms of active hockey players and for good reason considering he leads the league in goals almost every year.
Nicklas Backstrom: @backstrom19
Nicklas Backstrom is usually quiet and it’s the same case on social media with his last tweet coming back in April which was a retweet of Backstrom giving thanks to social workers for their service.
T.J. Oshie: @TJOshie77
T.J. Oshie is fairly active on Twitter each week. On July 2nd it was the five year anniversary of the Caps trading for him from the St. Louis Blues. It was the biggest trade in franchise history and it would help them win the Stanley Cup. Oshie’s last tweet was a reply to Ben Raby of the Capitals Radio network saying “mixed emotions on this day 5 years ago. Loved playing for the Blues but since then I’m #ALLCAPS.”
John Carlson: @JohnCarlson74
You know you want to follow John Norris, hands down the coolest defensemen in the NHL.
Braden Holtby: @Holts170
Like Backstrom, Braden Holtby isn’t always active on Twitter but when he does tweet you gotta listen. That was especially the case in early June when Holtby tweeted a powerful statement for the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
Tom Wilson: @tom_wilso
Tom Wilson is easily the team’s biggest social media butterfly. He’s worth a follow as he’s always active.
Evgeny Kuznetsov: @Kuzya92
Evgeny Kuznetsov is active on Twitter and sometimes you may catch him tweeting things in Russian.
Jakub Vrana: @VranaJakub
Jakub Vrana is also active on Twitter and recently retweeted Oshie’s Tweet about John Carlson in the campaign for the Norris Trophy.
Lars Eller: @lellerofficial
Lars Eller may be the most clutch Caps player of all-time and his Twitter account shows him to be very active. He recently tweeted out his support of the LGBTQ+ community.
Brenden Dillon: @BDillon04
Not to brag or anything but Brenden Dillon does follow us on Twitter so he obviously knows what’s good. Tom Wilson tweeted his shoutout to get Dillon’s follower rate up and Dillon himself admitted spending time with the Caps helped him up his suit game. He ended the tweet telling Tom, “Wouldn’t mind getting a profile pic like yours in a few months though.” Let’s win a Cup and make it happen!
Garnet Hathaway: @GarnetHathaway
Garnet Hathaway recently retweeted a video of him in the kitchen chaffing up BBQ. He’s simply a man of many talents. Fun fact, he even plays the harmonica!
Nic Dowd: @JimmyDowder26
Nic Dowd hasn’t tweeted since 2017, he’s been too busy trying to become one of the top fourth liners in the league. It’s a tall task to fill Jay Beagle’s shoes but he’s done alright.
That is all the Caps players who are on Twitter. Which player’s Twitter account is your favorite to follow Caps fans? Let us know in the comments!
