What the Caps will need to do for this year’s draft to be successful is to make selections to improve the overall prospect pool. They also need to find a forward to compliment a prospect list including Connor McMichael, Brett Leason and Alexei Protas. What will Washington do with their 24th pick? Take the best player available.

Our contributor CJ Witt wrote about three forwards that the Caps could take in the first round. His candidates are Jake Neighbors, Justin Sourdif, and Ozzy Weisblatt. Another contributor of ours, Ben Little, wrote a draft profile of Brendan Brisson. Those are all good players that could be added to the organization.

We’ll end this with a prediction. I think the Caps will take Lukas Reichel who will someday be a linemate with Connor McMichael.
