The best Washington Capitals rivalry games in the last 5 years.

Rivalries are what makes the game of hockey fun. Luckily for us Washington Capitals fans, we’ve gotten to take part in some epic rivalry games over the last four decades. We’ll narrow this down and look at the best of the best in the last five years.

There was a lot to choose from and ultimately it came down to some matchups between both New York teams as well as some contests with the Pittsburgh Penguins. These games saw many different players rise to the occasion and deliver clutch goals as well as made key saves.

For the year range we’ll go back to 2015 on some games and take it all the way to present day looking at the best games. Hopefully this will spark a healthy debate as well as a trip down memory lane relving these games.

These games made us believe anything was possible. There’s no better feeling than beating your rival and apologies to the Canes fans but Caps vs. Canes isn’t a rivalry like it is with Caps vs. Pens. You can try to make it like that down in North Carolina but here in D.C. the hate is real for the Pens.
