The Washington Capitals take on the Boston Bruins tonight. Here is how to watch the game as well as the top 3 players to keep an eye on. Read on here to learn more about the top 3 keys to a Caps victory.

The Caps had a 3-0 lead but blew it as the Bruins came back to force overtime. Despite that, Alex Ovechkin would win the game with an overtime goal, extending the franchise’s point streak to a record nine games.

#3 Start strong

The Caps will be looking for a much better start in tonight’s game than they did on Saturday. In the opening 20 minutes, the Bruins dominated by piling 19 shots at rookie Vitek Vanecek and out attempting the Caps 29-12. That’s pretty lopsided.

The Caps still went up 1-0 thanks to a goal from Nicklas Backstrom and that would be the score after one. Tom Wilson talked about Vitek’s play to Mike Vogel of WashingtonCaps.com:

"“I think Vitek was very strong. He kept us in it early, and we got some timely goals. Sometimes, that’s what it takes. It’s nice to have a goaltender back there to keep us in it when they’re coming out pretty hard, and it just gave us a chance to get two points.”"
