#2 Alex Ovechkin

Alex Ovechkin scored in the Caps last meeting with the Flyers and actually has three goals against them this season after scoring two in their first meeting of the season. Ovechkin has eight total goals thus far and sits four goals shy of passing Phil Esposito (717 goals) for the sixth most goals in NHL history.

Ovechkin’s goal on Sunday marked his 363rd career goal on the road, passing Steve Yzerman for the second most in NHL history. Ovechkin also sits at 262 career power play goals which is four shy of passing Brett Hull (265) for the second most power play goals in NHL history.

Ovechkin has scored against 145 different goaltenders averaging a 0.61 goals per game average. It is the highest among NHL players that reached the 700 goal milestone.

Ovechkin has 146 multi goal games which is more than Sidney Crosby, who has the second most since 2005-06 with 84. Ovechkin’s 15 career 30 goal campaigns only trail Mike Gartner by two seasons.

Ovechkin leads the Caps in goals and points aginst the Flyers this season with three goals and two assists. In his career against the Flyers, Ovechkin has 37 goals and 64 points. He will obviously be an impact player to watch in this game.
