Capitals vs. Penguins

The Caps will conclude the month of April with a home game against a familiar opponent. The Caps and Penguins will meet in the first of a two game series on Thursday April 29 in the second hockey game at Capital One Arena with fans. This will be the first time the two teams have met since February. Since that last meeting, a lot has changed.

The Caps dropped the first two games against the Pens, the first coming in a shootout and the other in overtime. They lost the third game 6-3 before finally winning the fourth game 3-1 in the finale in Pittsburgh.

The Caps welcomed the Penguins on home ice in late February. The Caps dropped the next game 3-2 in overtime before bouncing back in the final meeting 5-2.

The Penguins were an up and down team in the early parts but they’ve recently been hot. Their record is 29-14-3 with 61 points, just one point behind the Caps and Isles for first place in the MassMutual East Division.

It is no doubt the Penguins will be scouting these next three games to see where they’re at in the standings when that Thursday night matchup takes place.
