#2 Nick Jensen

Nick Jensen had a really cool goal on Tuesday night. He basically faked a pass to Ovechkin. It was a three on one rush with him, Ovechkin and Dmitry Orlov at 16:63 in the first period. His shot that went in gave the Caps a 2-1 lead and it was Jensen’s first goal at Capital One Arena.

Jensen explained:

"“Three-on-one, I’m not not getting a shot.”"

Jensen should have had his first goal at home six days prior but it was waved off due to it being offside by a coach’s challenge. Jensen would elaborate:

"“I feel like I was in pretty good position so I’d rather at least throw it on net than flub a pass or have it get broken up. I had a pretty good look. It’s not often I’ll be passing up a pass to No. 8.”"

Head coach Peter Laviolette added:

"“We talked about that. He buried it so I thought it was good.”"

Jensen also had the primary assist on Nic Dowd’s goal. It was his eighth career multi point game. Jensen has lined up on the second pair thus far this season with Dmitry Orlov. He is making a strong case for Norris. I’m serious.
