The Washington Capitals look to bounce back tonight against the Ottawa Senators in their first game north of the border in 20 months. Here’s how to watch the game. Read on to find out who the top 3 players to watch tonight are.

The Capitals fought back from a 3-0 deficit on Saturday afternoon against the Calgary Flames. The good is that they found a way to muster a point. The ugly was clearly the first period while the bad was overtime.

The Caps are 1-0 thus far on the road. This is their first game against Ottawa since Jan. 31, 2020 which resulted in a 5-3 win at Canadian Tire Centre.

#3 Ilya Samsonov

Ilya Samsonov will get the start in goal after he came on in relief of Vitek Vanecek after he allowed three first period goals. That wasn’t on Vanecek though. Samsonov played in the second and third period asa well as overtime and stopped 13 of 14 shots for a .929 save percentage. He only allowed that goal in overtime.

Samsonov needs more performances like that after signing a prove it contract over the summer. Some people are already on Team Vitek like our contributor David. Samsonov was going to get a start tonight anyway and is 1-0-1 with a 2.34 goals against average and a .902 save percentage.
