The Washington Capitals got a big win against the Ottawa Senators in a crazy game with a lot of goals. They came out on top 7-5 behind a hat trick from T.J. Oshie. But there were three studs that separated themselves from the pack.

#3 Connor McMichael

With his family in the stands, Capitals 2019 first round pick Connor McMichael picked a perfect time to record his first career NHL points. His first came on T.J. Oshie’s first goal of the night in the form of a secondary assist. His second came on Oshie’s hat trick.

McMichael talked about his family being there for his first NHL points:

"“It’s cool they could be here for it. It is a lot of fun and I’m happy I could share the moment with them.”"

He also would add:

"“It was cool. I had that in the back of my mind the whole game.”"

McMichael finished his night skating a career high 14:01. He was on a line with Oshie and Anthony Mantha on the second. It was just his fourth NHL game. With Nicklas Backstrom absent and now Nic Dowd day to day with a lower body injury it’s good to see the youngsters like McMichael and Hendrix Lapierre step up.
