After an awesome 2-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings last night, the Washington Capitals conclude their two game, back to back road trip tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Zach Fucale got the shutout last night and tonight it’ll be Ilya Samsonov getting the start in goal.

Since the Capitals and Blue Jackets joined the Metropolitan Division in the 2013-14 season, Ovechkin’s 12 goals are tied for the fourth most against Columbus during that span. The Caps have 13 back to back sets this season.
Ovechkin still leads the charge int he NHL. He ranks first in the NHL in goals with 11 and third in points with 22. Evgeny Kuznetsov is fourth in assists with 12 and is tied for fourth in points with 17
Fucale was the first goaltender in franchise history to record a shutout in his NHL debut and the sixth goaltender in NHL history, stopping all 21 shots he faced against the Red Wings. He became the sixth goaltender in NHL history to record a shutout in his NHL debut at the age of 26 or older.
