The Washington Capitals made a roster move this morning, recalling Garrett Pilon from the Hershey Bears prior to their west coast road trip. Pilon made his NHL debut with the Caps last season. It came on May 8, 2021 against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Pilon set career highs in goals with 18 and 36 points during the shortened 2019-20 AHL season with Hershey. The Caps drafted Pilon in the third round at 87th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft. He played in one NHL game last season with 10:40 minutes of ice time. He had one takeaway and two giveaways. It happens. He’s honestly been through a lot like Zach Fucale and he deserves to have a chance to shine on the NHL stage.
The Caps head to Anaheim to take on the Ducks tomorrow night in the first game of a four game west coast road trip.
