2022 is here and the Washington Capitals have big goals in mind. We all know what didn’t work in 2021 with the most glaring issue being the power play. But what were the good things the Capitals did in 2021 that they can carry over into the new year?

Definitely not the power play. That’s gotta change. But some things they can carry over include the resurgence of a key player, the youth infusion and a captain on the chase towards history.

#3 Kuzy Revenge Tour

I have to give credit where credit is due. Our contributor Ben Little, who was the second writer I brought on board and our first from Canada, designed these dope shirts at Chirpin DMV which you can check out here. They’re also our friends so be sure to check out their work and podcast.

Evgeny Kuznetsov’s hot start already puts him better than where he was a season ago. He’s got 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points while centering the top line. After being the subject of trade rumors, I was hoping Kuzy would make some of us eat our words and I am gladly eating mine watching him cook opposing teams. Kuzy ended 2021 with a fun revenge tour and the Caps hope to carry that into 2022.
