On Wednesday the NHL announced the make up dates of the postponements earlier in the season. Since they aren’t sending anyone to the Olympics, they are using that stretch of time that would have been a break to make up the games. There will be six make up games for the Washington Capitals.

The changes are as follows:

The Columbus Blue Jackets at Capitals, originally scheduled for April 28, will now be played on Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.

Capitals at Montreal Canadiens, originally scheduled for Jan. 4, will now be played on Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.

Ottawa Senators at Capitals, originally scheduled for Dec. 27, will now be played on Feb. 13 at 12:30 p.m.

Washington at Nashville Predators, originally scheduled for April 2, will now be played on Feb. 15 at 8 p.m.

Washington at Philadelphia Flyers, originally scheduled for Dec. 21, will now be played on FEb. 17 at 7 p.m.

Washington at New York Islanders, originally scheduled for Dec. 23, will now be played on April 28 at 7 p.m.

The Capitals game against Ottawa on Feb. 13 is on Super Bowl Sunday which will be the 15th time in the last 16 seasons and the 14th consecutive season the Caps will host a hockey game before the big football game. Broadcast information on these six contests will be announced at a later date.

The team announced that they will email all season ticket holders and communicate updates via WashingtonCaps.com and social media platforms. Tickets for the originally scheduled game will be honored for the rescheduled date. All fans must retain their original tickets in order to attend the new game date and time. More information will be communicated to those who bought tickets via email.
