2022 NHL All Star weekend is underway in Las Vegas and today the game’s best will take center ice in front of the entire hockey world. The Washington Capitals have two representatives in Evgeny Kuznetsov and Tom Wilson. They both competed in the skills challenge on Friday night.

For Wilson he competed in the Hardest Shot and came in third. When he was introduced to the crowd he was booed by all the non Caps fans in the building. So basically anybody not in a red sweater. His second attempted reached the century mark at 101.1 miles per hour.

Today the Metropolitan Division will take on the Pacific Division in the first game of the three on three tournament. Here are three bold predictions for Tom Wilson.

#3 Kuzy and Wilson will connect for a goal

Wilson got booed as he was doing the Hardest Shot drill and he’s going to get booed again after Evgeny Kuznetsov sets him up with a goal. It will come in the middle of the game and help the Metropolitan Division to a win over the Pacific.

In the second game we’ll see vice versa as Wilson will set up Kuzy in a Metropolitan Division championship. Rent free.

#2 Wilson will hit somebody

It’s bound to happen and it’s going to happen in the All Star Game. Tom Wilson is going to lay out a hit and it’s gonna get his name trending all over twitter. He’s got 128 hits so far this season. That’s way more than last season’s 105. He has 13 goals and 31 points through 41 games and is on pace to set a career high 56 points.

Now Wilson downplayed that he was going to hit someone at his media session so the hit will come accidentally and not intentionally. But because he’s Tom Wilson non Caps fans in attendance and watching the game will lose their minds.

“I don’t think the other guys would be too happy about that. There’s a lot of great guys here and I think it’s gonna be a lot of fun and you know they’ll be flying around and making plays and just try and keep up and do my best.”

Like I said this hit will be accidental. It could happen with Wilson not even seeing what he’s doing. Or a player might even put themselves in the way to make Wilson look bad. Now here’s one more bold prediction and this one is as bold as it gets.

#1 Tom Wilson will win All Star Game MVP

This will make the rest of the hockey world upset except Caps fans. Tom Wilson will help carry the Metropolitan Division to the top and then win MVP on top of it. Keep booing Vegas fans and they’ll be booing throughout the afternoon as Wilson continues to do work on the ice.

While he didn’t win the Hardest Shot he did get some sound advice from former teammate Zdeno Chara. He was told by Big Zee to not put too much pressure on himself. That’s the exact approach he should take to the All Star Game today.

“He said he always shot better when he was loose and not putting too much pressure on himself. We’ve had some great guys in our room and a lot of experience so that was cool of him to reach out and send his best.”

Wilson is excited for the opportunity ahead today:

“It’s really cool… when I got offered the opportunity, I was very honored and privileged. These are the best players in our sport in the best game in the world, so it’s a lot of fun.”
