The Washington Capitals are back in action today and it’s another nationally televised game. Today they got the Boston Bruins at Capital One Arena in a matinee affair. It’s another big test for a team that’s been on the upswing lately with wins against two powerhouses.

First the Caps took care of the Tampa Bay Lightning on home ice. Then they stole one in Pittsburgh against the Penguins thanks to a game winning goal from Tom Wilson. Alex Ovechkin, Dmitry Orlov, and Marcus Johansson also scored and Evgeny Kuznetsov and Martin Fehervary put it away with empty netters for the 6-3 final.

The Bruins got a 2-1 overtime win over the Lightning. They are 35-21-5 with 95 points, good for third in the Atlantic Division. The Caps are now six points back of the Bolts for the first wild card spot. They are 39-22-10 with 88 points.
