#2 Evgeny Kuznetsov

Just how far can the Caps go in this year’s Stanley Cup playoffs? They will go as far as Evgeny Kuznetsov will take them.

Kuznetsov has been on a revenge tour all season after he was the subject of trade rumors throughout last summer. It’s a darn good thing the Caps didn’t listen to those rumors and trade him. This move would have came back to bite them but now they don’t have to worry about that.

This season Kuznetsov has broken out the bird more often than not with 23 goals and 51 assists for 74 points. He’s just four goals away from tying his career high that he set in, you guessed it, 2017-18.

During that 2018 run to the Stanley Cup, Kuznetsov was the most important player as he led the team with 32 points and 20 assists to go along with 12 goals including the overtime game winner, series clincher to get past the second round in Pittsburgh.

Kuznetsov has played in 81 total playoff games and has 27 goals and 35 assists for 62 points. He isn’t afraid to score clutch goals and he hopes to continue his revenge tour into the postseason where he needs just one goal to do better than last spring.
