Alex Ovechkin is hungry for another Cup and ring. Like Kuznetsov, the Caps will go as far as the great eight will take them.

Ovechkin has 47 goals and 39 assists for 86 points which is good for fourth in the NHL in goals. He also has 15 goals in his last 20 games, heating up at just the right time. Ovechkin is aiming to reach the 50 goal mark for the ninth time in his career. That would tie Wayne Gretzky and Mike Bossy for the most 50 goal seasons in NHL history. He would additionally become the first player in NHL history to reach the 50 goal mark at age 36 or older.

Ovechkin only trails Teemu Selanne by one goal for the all time mark by a player aged 36 or older in a season. His goal on Saturday marked his first against goaltender Sam Montembeault, the 159th goaltender Ovechkin has scored against in his career.

Ovechkin is now fourth all time not he list of most goaltenders scored against, trailing only Jaromir Jagr (178), Patrick Marleau (177) and Mark Messier (164). Marleau ranks first in league history in games played while Jagr ranks third and Messier places fourth.

In his career Ovechkin has played in 141 playoff games and scored 71 goals and added 64 assists for 135 points. That includes a team leading 15 goals in their run to the Stanley Cup in 2018.
