The Washington Capitals are now up 2-1 on the President’s Trophy winning Florida Panthers. Ilya Samsonov played lights out. The offense lit up the scoreboard after the Panthers struck first, scoring six unanswered. It was overall a fun afternoon and now ticket prices for Game 4 have gone up, and for good reason.

The Capitals have a chance to win their first playoff series since the 2018 season when they hoisted the Stanley Cup. Once they get this monkey off their back and knock off a giant, watch out whomever comes next.

Here are the top 3 reasons why the Caps will win round one.

#3 Next man up

Despite Tom Wilson being out, the Capitals have used the next man up mentality that has guided them all season long through an injury and COVID-19 filled season. Whether it’s Alex Ovechkin delivering hits, or Connor McMichael or Brett Leason coming into the lineup, everybody is chipping in which is shades of that 2018 team.

The Panthers aren’t dealing with any injuries which made them even more the favorites entering Game 3. That and the Caps bad play at home in the calendar year. But you, the fans, helped power them to a huge win and you gotta bring your A game once again tomorrow night if you’re lucky enough to afford a ticket.
