#1 Young bloods

We all know the veterans will step up tonight in Game 4 but what about the young bucks? It’s time to see guys like Connor McMichael and Martin Fehervary really step up. We all know Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, and T.J. Oshie have brought it. It’s time to see those guys and more on the bottom six.

There were no changes to the lines or defensive pairs. Fehervary continued to skate on the top pair with John Carlson. McMichael was placed on the third line for the second straight game. Game 3 was McMichael’s playoff debut. Tonight will be the game where he scores his first playoff goal.

McMichael was a healthy scratch in Game 1 and Game 2. With Tom Wilson’s lower body injury, Head Coach Peter Laviolette first inserted Brett Leason for Game 2 before deciding to go with McMichael in Game 3.

McMichael had nine goals and one assists for 18 points in 68 games in the regular season. In Game 3 he won a face off, skated a total of 8:35, and put up two shots to go along with a takeaway.
