The Washington Capitals have a plethora of options they could take with the number 20th pick in the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft. In this post we’ll take a look at some options that could be available. Many of these players will be centers as that’s the top position of need for them this draft.

So which centers or other best available players could the Capitals take with that number 20 pick? We’ll start with our prediction and then give you four more names they could take if they don’t listen to us.

#5 Frank Nazar

Frank Nazar is a 18 year old center that could also play on the right wing. Listed at five foot 10 and 181 pounds, Nazar has been killing it for the Team USA youth squads. But before that let’s take a look at his numbers at 15U AAA.

With Hoeybaked he had 49 goals and 78 assists for 127 points in 2019-20. The next season he had 28 goals and 27 assists for 55 points with the U.S. National U17 Team. The next year with the U.S. National U18 Team he had 28 goals and 42 assists for 70 points. He also recently had 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points in the USHL for the USNTDP Juniors. He will be playing for the University of Michigan next season.
