After looking at October, November, and December it’s time to look at what’s in store for the Washington Capitals in the month of January.

They’ll be off on the first as well as every other team except for two. The Winter Classic will take place that day at Fenway Park between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins.

Okay now back to the Caps. First they got a home game on the third against the Buffalo Sabres. Then they got a road and home back to back on the fifth and sixth between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Nashville Predators. Then they host the Blue Jackets on Sunday.

On the 11th the Caps are on the road against the Philadelphia Flyers. Then three nights later they’ll host the Flyers. Then it’s a back to back on Monday and Tuesday Jan. 16 and 17 against the New York Islanders on the road and at home against the Minnesota Wild.

Then it’s out west. First it’s a game on the 19th at the Arizona Coyotes. Then they take on the Vegas Golden Knights on the 21st and the Colorado Avalanche on the 24th.

On the 26th they’ll host the Pittsburgh Penguins. They’ll end the month with road games on the 29th against the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jackets.

This schedule is packed full of must watch games. Well not really. But there are games that you should plan a road trip for or perhaps catch at home.

The home game to catch is on Jan. 26 against the Penguins. The game to plan a road trip for is the west coast one from the 19th throughout the 24th. You can go to all three, two out of three or pick your city.

But you got Phoenix, Arizona or wherever the heck that arena is at Arizona State if you have the money. Or you could just not go to the game and watch from your favorite party there. There’s also Las Vegas and what happens there stays there.

The Caps finish that road trip against the Colorado Avalanche. Caps fans know how to take the arena over.

Now for some way too early predictions. Caps will beat the Sabres and the Blue Jackets. They’ll fall to the Predators and the Blue Jackets at home. They’ll also fall to the Flyers on the road before beating them at home.

They’ll beat the Islanders and fall to the Wild. They’ll then sweep the road trip and beat the Penguins Then they’ll fall to the Maple Leafs and beat the Blue Jackets.

That leaves them with a 9-5-0 record. Not too bad for an interesting month of January.
