How many Stanley Cups has Andre Burakovsky won as of 2022?
Andre Burakovsky is the only member of the 2018 Washington Capitals championship team to have won two Stanley Cups. He won his second one this past season with the Colorado Avalanche. He then signed with the Seattle Kraken as a free agent.
His deal with the Kraken is five years. His best moment in his most recent Cup run was scoring the overtime winner in Game 1 over the Tampa Bay Lightning. He had his day with the Stanley Cup last month.
Burakovsky’s most notable moment in his first Stanley Cup run with the Capitals was also against the Lightning. It came in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Two games prior Burakovsky was a healthy scratch.
But in that Game 7 Burakovsky scored two goals to help the Caps win the Eastern Conference and punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Throughout his time in D.C. Burakovsky dealt with injuries and inconsistencies but he will always be a part of that 2018 Cup team for more than just his two goals in that Game 7.
Burakovsky put a smile on fans faces and impacted and gave back to the Capitals community. Everyone missed him when the team traded him to the Colorado Avalanche. He began to blossom there.
In 328 career games with the Capitals over five years, Burakovsky recorded 62 goals and 83 assists for 145 points. He was even better in his three seasons in Colorado.
Burakovsky recorded 61 goals and 89 assists for 150 points in 191 games. That is off the heels of a regular season last year where he had a career high 22 goals and 39 assists for 61 points.
During the Avalanche run to the Stanley Cup he had three goals and five assists for eight points. In 37 career playoff games in Colorado he had 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points.
His 56 playoff games with the Caps saw him score nine goals and add nine assists for 18 points. He did have his clutch moments even before that Game 7. There was one game in 2015 against the New York Rangers where he also scored twice.
Now Burakovsky looks to take his winning success and bring it to the newest team in the NHL in the Seattle Kraken.
