We’ve finally reached the end of our month by month look of the Washington Capitals schedule. In cased you missed it, here were October, November, December, January, February and March.

Well April reaches the end of the regular season with the playoffs starting in mid April so we get somewhat of a normal schedule this season for the first time since 2018-19. The Caps will finish the regular season with six games.

First up is a matinee on Sunday April 2nd at Capital One Arena against the New York Rangers. On the sixth they’ll go to Montreal to take on the Canadiens. On Saturday the 8th they’ll host the Florida Panthers.

On Monday the 10th and Tuesday the 11th the Caps will have one more back to back. First it’s a home game against the New York Islanders and a road contest at the Boston Bruins. The regular season concludes on April 13 at home against the New Jersey Devils.

As far as games to watch in the month of April I’ve got three. That matinee against the Rangers, that Saturday night matchup with the Panthers and the regular season finale against the Devils. Could the Caps win the Metropolitan Division? Or at least make the playoffs?

Now it’s time for some way too early predictions to close out the regular season. Caps defeat the Rangers, Canadiens, Panthers and Islanders. They fall to the Bruins. Then they beat the Devils to end the regular season.

Doing the math that’s a 5-1-0 record to close out the regular season. That would honestly be the best case scenario if you are the Capitals which will put you in prime playoff position.

The playoffs will likely start either that weekend or the next Tuesday the 18th. We certainly hope the Caps will be there and can find a way to get past the first round.
